Image
The Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, was a guest on Channels TV yesterday where he stated that the military was not planning to arrest anyone on social media that makes anti-military or anti-government comments because they do not have the power to make such arrests. Many Nigerians thought it meant that the military would soon begin to arrest anyone that makes such comments online. The anxiety in Nigerians grew when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo during his time as acting president, had announced that hate speech would now be treated as an act of terrorism. During his interview yesterday, Enenche said the military was just going to monitor the social media space but it has no power to arrest anyone that makes hate speech on social media. “There

LAUTECH CRISIS.. A HIDDEN CONSPIRACY BETWEEN OYO STATE AND OSUN STATE

IS KPMG REPORT AN EVALUATION OF LAUTECH FOR SALE ? By Oyedeji Ahmed (LMP) The rate at which people keep calling and asking question about the true intention of the two Governors to sell LAUTECH calls for a total concern. As some would say their intention is to sell the school to Lebanese or Chinese, others have always opined to be sold to *Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu* and become BATUTECH. But as the case may be, no any substantial fact yet to lay claim on. However, it's thinkable that the birth of Technical university and UNIOSUN is a challenge to the survival of LAUTECH. Or how do you explain the position of the two Governors on self sustainability if not a total abandonment ? Their intention is to subject the 27 years old institution to civil service rule. And in so doing, LAUTECH would be seen as a glorified secondary school and far from competing amongst the best state university. Regrettably, it's a big sin on our part that we allowed Governor AJIMOBI for a second ti

LAUTECH AND ITS SUGGESTED SOLUTION

Image
It saddens my heart each time I look back into the memory lane and digest on what used to be a great citadel of learning; LADOKE AKINTOLA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, popularly known as "LAUTECH". Especially, when one recollects how enviable this institution was among her peers back then. LAUTECH was a dream of those who aspired for the best higher education, especially those in technological or science related fields, because the institution could be liken to "Havard or Oxford " of Nigeria around the time if I'm not exaggerating. But Before I proceed, let me make a preamble in a glance on the history of "LAUTECH". This institution was among the pioneers universities of technology in the country, established in (1990) to be precised after series of deliberations led by the then Military governor of old Oyo state "Tunji Olurin". This institution got her name after the Late premier of Western region "LADOKE AKINTOLA". It was basica

- A nationwide ASUU strike seems inevitable as the union goes toe to toe with the federal government - The union says the government is yet to fulfil its part of agreement signed them in 2009 - ASUU has begun to collate signatures from members in preparation for the strike The Nigerian federal government has been unable to honor its part of agreement signed with Academic Union of University (ASUU) in 2009. Therefore the union has begun the process that may lead to a nationwide strike soon. According to Daily Sun, ASUU has begun collation of signatures of members through referenda which would determine the type of strike in terms of time to embark on. Some of the problems relate to academic allowances, change of pension administrators, remittance of needs assessment funds, issue of staff and possible renegotiation of condition of service. Former Welfare Secretary, ASUU, Kaduna state University, Mallam Ahmad Buba urged the federal government to fulfill its part of the 2009 agreement to a

A plate of rice and stew with beef  (360 Nigeria) Cooking in Nigeria is often seen as a lady's duty and so nearly all Nigerian guys can't seem to make a decent plate of meal. While this is largely due to their tight schedules and busy lifestyle (because they have to work, work, work to able to fully meet up with their financial responsibilities), it's only important and necessary that they know how to juggle one or two mixtures to come up with a decent recipe to fill a plate (at least plate for one) because of the rainy days. Putting aside the very complicated meals that require a lot of ingredients and step by step guide, here are 5 of the easy to make recipes that every Nigerian guy should know how to prepare. 1.
