  Zalman and Salim Sodangi got married in Abuja on the 19th of August. In a tragic end to a beautiful love story,  Zainab passed away on Tuesday, August 29th. Family and friends took to social media including Instagram page of their official wedding photographer EyesOfInsanity, to mourn her.

16 people die as residential building collapses in Mumbai, India

  At least 16 people have died and 24 others have been rescued after a residential building collapsed in Mumbai, India this morning making it the third building collapse in Mumbai in less than a month. Rescue officials on site say at least 10 people are still trapped in the six-storey building located in the densely populated Bhendi Bazaar area which is believed to be about 100 years old. Ambulances, fire engines and members of the disaster relief force are still working at the site.

Photos: South African police officer kills his girlfriend and then commits suicide

A young female constable was brutally murdered by her lover, also a police officer at KwaDabeka Police Station in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Tuesday 29 August. Nontuthuko Mthembu, who started working as a police officer last year, was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend before he turned the gun on himself. According to KwaDabeka police spokesperson Captain Mazwi Mbatha, the man who is based at the Inanda Cluster was in one of the offices with Mthembu at the KwaDabeka police station when they heard her screaming for help and asking for forgiveness. “We then heard about four gunshots and rushed into the office, and unfortunately they were declared dead on scene,” said Mbatha. “Although the staff has been counselled, the situation is still very tense at the station. We have had lots of people coming in and out since the incident happened.” Mthembu was described as a bubbly people’s person who respected her job. More photos of the victim below... ...

IS KPMG REPORT AN EVALUATION OF LAUTECH FOR SALE ? By Oyedeji Ahmed (LMP) The rate at which people keep calling and asking question about the true intention of the two Governors to sell LAUTECH calls for a total concern. As some would say their intention is to sell the school to Lebanese or Chinese, others have always opined to be sold to *Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu* and become BATUTECH. But as the case may be, no any substantial fact yet to lay claim on. However, it's thinkable that the birth of Technical university and UNIOSUN is a challenge to the survival of LAUTECH. Or how do you explain the position of the two Governors on self sustainability if not a total abandonment ? Their intention is to subject the 27 years old institution to civil service rule. And in so doing, LAUTECH would be seen as a glorified secondary school and far from competing amongst the best state university.
