Those I Will Arrest When I Become President – Fayose

Image
Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has said that those arresting people today will be arrested tomorrow. This followed his insistence that he will become Nigeria’s next president. Fayose, in a series of tweets on Thursday night, was reacting to the arrest of Toyin Ojo, his Commissioner for Finance. The Governor insinuated that some people in Aso Villa were using the security and anti-graft agencies to intimidate him. “The arrestors of today would be arrested tomorrow. “Those who gave [email protected] won’t be POTUS know better now. I want to be President of Nigeria, that’s what I will be. “They think they can use @officialEFCC to intimidate us, we are waiting. But tell the Villa hawks that last year, they used DSS, it failed. “They remembered bailout fund the moment I made it public that I was declaring for President. So, Ekiti was the only state that got bailout?,” Fayose tweeted.

The union suspended the strike conditionally on September 18 after dialogue with a Federal Government delegation headed by the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige. “We wish to assure our students and parents that they do not have any cause to worry over the lost period while the strike lasted. “As we have always said, it is not our intention to be disrupting academic activities in our institutions. “W

Senate President Bukola Saraki has confirmed that students and lecturers of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho, will resume on Friday. The management of the university had announced that students and staff of the varsity should resume on Monday, September 18 but the news had elicited a negative reaction from the striking staff members who said they were unaware of the development. However, Saraki, via his Twitter page on Wednesday, said the imminent resumption of academic activities was due to the intervention of his office during a meeting held with the aggrieved lecturers. Quoting a post by DailyPost on the resumption on Friday, he wrote; “Glad that after our intervention, #LAUTECH students will be returning back to school. Kudos to the @oyostategovt and @StateofOsun!”

Announcing resumption is to turn the students and public against us – ASUU LAUTECH

The Western Regional Zonal coordinator, of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr. Ade Adejumo said in a chat with our correspondent that asking students to resume without sorting out the institution’s crisis was a way to turn the students and public against the union. He said as opposed to the news that has been making rounds, the two state governments are yet to pay the six months salary arrears to the university and didn’t even meet with the unions before announcing resumption. He pointed out that the unions would not be open to dialogue unless their agitations are taken care of. Their agitation, he said, are more than salaries. “We need a sustainable way to run the institution” When asked the outcome of the meeting with the school’s governing council which was held on Monday, 18th of September, the unionist said, they have not gotten far from the beginning of the crisis and that the strike subsits until their prayers are answered by the government. OPERATION BLESS YOUR TEACHERS

Image
Have you ever think about your life? How you came about how to read and write? Do you remember those days when you do writing in nursery school and your teacher beat you just to make sure you get it correctly? Do you remember how the teacher struggle to make sure you understand the subject? Do you even care if such a teacher has his/her own problem yet he/she finds joy in teaching you, now you are a big man and woman but do you remember that teacher that did so much for you? You can read and write today, all thanks to those teacher figures. You are who you are today, thanks to them. Do you even remember their faces, hope you are not saying at least I pay school fees, yes you did, but what you paid for, was it worth what was given to you? It saddens my heart that teachers who ought to be collecting high salaries more than our political leaders are just collecting a stipend, enough of the epistle, am not write this to change your heart but can you think back to how it all start

Femi Fani Kayode Reacts To President Buhari's United Nation Speech

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode, has reacted to the address by President Buhari at the United Nations General Assembly Buhari in his speech strongly condemned terrorists acts across the globe. But Fani Kayode lampooned the president for not condemning killings in Nigeria. “You condemn the killing of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar yet you slaughter Igbo Christians and Shiite Muslims in Nigeria and you turn a blind eye as your Salafist Fulani kinsmen and herdsmen butcher northern and southern Christians. You declare support for the establishment of a Palestinian state yet you reject the idea of Biafra. You condemn North Korea’s dictatorship yet you have proved to be the most ruthless dictator that Nigeria has ever known. “Your speech at the United Nations was pitiful, shameless and uninspiring. It was a cocktail of contradictions, deceit and mendacities”.

Manchester United vs Burton Albion: Early confirmed team news

Manchester United vs Burton Albion: Early confirmed team news Jose Mourinho has confirmed David de Gea, Antonio Valencia, Nemanja Matic and Eric Bailly will all miss Manchester United’s League Cup game with Burton Albion after being given time off. All four players have featured heavily for Man United this season and allowing them two days off each should help them recuperate ahead of this weekend’s away trip to Southampton in the Premier League. Speaking ahead of the game, Mourinho revealed: “I gave two days off only to four players. Apart from that, everybody is selected. Do you want to know which four? De Gea, Valencia, Matic and Bailly.” The only player I thought might feature against Burton Albion was Matic but his absence means we’ll see a likely midfield pairing of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, or potentially Michael Carrick‘s first appearance of the season. Ashley Young‘s fine recent performances mean he will slot in for Valencia but Mourinho also has Matteo D

What is wrong with LAUTECH

As the national Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), suspended its one-month-and-six days-long strike on Monday, the reaction from thousands of students across the country was surprisingly unenthusiastic. Students took to social media to express their reluctance to return to school. Why? For some, because of the heavy workload and examinations awaiting them upon resumption, and for others, its just sheer laziness. The story is, however, different for another set of students. While their colleagues begrudgingly prepared to return to school after the month-long strike, they still sat home in apprehension, waiting for a second, more important, confirmation before they begin packing their bags. These ‘special’ set of students are none other than the students of the infamous Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, who have been stuck at home for over one year. One may wonder, since the national ASUU, which oversees the majority of universities in Nigeria
