Nemanja Matic to undergo medical at Manchester United
Nemanja Matic to undergo medical at Manchester United in the next 48 hours, as the player is set to reunite with his former boss in a deal worth £40million.
Matic is set to sign a contract worth around £155,000-a-week at Old Trafford where is likely to replace 36-year-old Michael Carrick.
The player will go through a medical test, once he passes the test he will become Manchester United player according to The Sun.
The deal may be delayed with Mourinho back in his homeland of Portugal mourning the loss of his father Jose Manuel Mourinho Felix who died last night.
Chelsea and Manchester United have done some deals together in the past and the sale of Matic to Manchester United will be no exception following the sale of Juan Mata for 37.1m in 2013 the relationship between both clubs is healthy.
Reports in France say Bakayoko and Chelsea have not yet agreed on personal terms but a medical is planned and that deal could be done in the next few days.
Matic, 28, is six years older than Bakayoko but former Blues star Ray Wilkins would prefer to see Nathaniel Chalobah, also 22, given a chance.
"I was really disappointed to read they are ¬looking at ¬Bakayoko from Monaco,”Wilkins said.
"He is 22, French and doesn't get near the national side, but it was quoted Chelsea might be paying £32m.
"Well, in Nathaniel they have a footballer who can play exactly the same but just needs an opportunity."
Matic will be happy to reunite with Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford next summer.
